Uses no filter pads
-
Water is the filter. Fresh every day. Cleans with a consistently high level of effectiveness, as water doesn't clog the way filter pads do.
-
Extremely quiet. Ideal for use in bedrooms.
-
Visible purifying performance. Pure water evaporates, leaving dirt trapped in the tank like salt in the sea.
-
Odorless. No smell of moldy filters or stagnant water.

Owned it for years - a breeze to clean |
|
I've placed the Venta on a table right by my bed in a large room with an open stairwell. Don't expect it to humidify the entire space. Nasal passages and eyes are so much less dry. No more nose bleeds. Prefer it to the various humidifiers I've owned over the years. Water can be added easily and quickly using a pitcher (a plus since there's just a half bath on that level) with no need to carry it back and forth to a larger sink. Becoming lazy and not cleaning it regularly may not be advised but at least you don't kill it with a build-up of hard water deposits. Even with diligent cleaning it's hard to get more than 2 years out of some humidifiers these days; this has lasted for years. It finally did start clicking. Nice to know why and that it's easily remedied. I don't quite understand the reported difficulties in cleaning; it's actually much easier and less messy than other humidifiers. The black container opens up like an envelop so that every part, except the motor housing, can be cleaned in the sink or DW. No hard scales to scrape off; it just wipes clean. There's even a little door to open to pull the electrical cord out. Ingenious. |

Very low output |
For the price, I found this to be a very poor choice. It is attractive in it's simplicity-all plastic parts. After a second winter, I have come to the conclusion that it actually achieves next to nothing in terms of humidification. I threw it in the trash yesterday. Enough said. |

Fabulous trouble free product |
We've owned this unit for eight years. It has functioned flawlessly. It's quiet and efficient. We live in the mountains of southwest Colorado where winter humidity can easily drop below 20%. This little unit keeps our large bedroom right about 50% according to our hygrometer.
We do not use the company's additive. Just water from our well (which has a fairly high calcium content and a high pH balance). The calcium eventually builds up. We clean it by running white vinegar through it. It's simple. Tap water varies, so perhaps the different results people get are caused by the differences in the viscosity of their water.
The design is so elegant, there's not much that can go wrong. Others here have suggested that it must be periodically cleaned in order to operate quietly. I would guess that's correct since that's what we do.
This has been a pretty dry winter, so we're considering buying a second unit so we can humidify more of the house. We would definitely recommend this product. |

Best Humidifier I've ever had! |
I have purchased numerous humidifiers the past fifteen years and have had to discard them at the end of the cold season because of mineral build-up which were difficult to clean if at all.
The humidifiers either over-humidified, my window panes beaded with water moisture, or under-humidified.
Enter Venta LW24!
It is such an elegant design. All you do is refill it with water each morning and it will humidify the room at the proper humidity. In my case it always stayed around the 40 percentile humidity. If it's wet outside it will read in the upper 50's.
It is very easy to clean, since it's just a plain box, with no nooks or crannies to clean. The company sells an additive to the water to eliminate mineral build-up and a cleaner for end of season storage.
I highly recommend this humidifier.
Though it may cost a bit more than other humidifiers, in the long run it will pay off in ease of use and cleaning, humidify the room properly at the right humidity. Because of its simple, strong design, it should last a few years instead of just one season with my experience with other brands. Other reviewers here have stated they have had theirs for many years.
I was fortunate, I was able to get it brand new for $159. The Seller was new and was selling this humidifier as a promotion.

Good product + Bad service = questionable purchase |
Years ago I purchased an LW14, and I was happy. Recently I purchased
2 LW24's and this is where the problems start. The manual instructs
me to go to their web site to register, yet there is no registration
link. I then emailed them 4 times at their customer service address
asking about this, with no responses. I called them numerous times
at their customer service 800 number, and I only can reach voice
mail. I am not sure they are still in business; with this much trouble
registering the product I am very concerned if I even actually need
warranty work nobody will be there to assist. I cannot recommend
this purchase. |
